THE BORED SALESMAN GIVES THE SECRETS OF BUYING A CAR FOR THE ACTUAL "BEST PRICE"

Hello, I am a car salesman and I have worked for the same dealership for eight years selling new and used cars. I've learned over the years that if a customer comes in to buy a car, whether it's new or used, and has no idea what they are doing, they will never get the best price the dealer can offer. So I've come up with a few easy steps to ensure that you get the best deal possible on your next car. You may wonder why I would want to give away these tips to people when I am the one that will be on the losing end if someone comes in knowing these things. Well, I'm at work right now and its snowing out and I'm bored out of my mind and the way I see it, how many people will actually read this lame blog. So here we go. These steps will work no matter how big or small a car lot is. They all have the same goal: to sell you a car.

The first step is:  DO YOUR RESEARCH! I don't  mean read a bunch of worthless crap that some turd magazine has to say about how fast the car is or where its made. The salesman already knows that stuff and he or she isn't impressed when you waste half of their day showing off facts that any moron could find on the internet. Research means find the same car at a couple other dealers and tell the salesman that you already went there and they are offering it to you for less money than this place is. If the manager knows you are looking at one of their competitors vehicles, they will bend over backwords to sell it to you.

Step number 2 : MAKE A LOW OFFER. Don't just ask "what's your best price" because that pisses us off. If you make an offer, we think you might actually be a serious customer who knows their shit. You have to be careful though. If you make the offer too low, we'll tell you to piss off because we'll think you're joking. If you make it to high, you might pay more than you need to. Usually if you offer about $2000 below the asking price, that's a safe bet. With the Internet making everything available to everyone, we can't ask too much for our vehicles or nobody will come in to even look at them.

My last step is:  BE PREPARED.  If you owe money on your trade, get the payoff amount before you go in to the car lot so you don't have to call eighteen people to find out how much you owe. Make sure you have your drivers license with you. That seems like an obvious step, but a lot of people forget to bring it. Finally, bring your checkbook or a credit card or cash so that we know you are ready to put a deposit on the car if we take your offer. Follow these steps and you are sure to get a great price on anything they have for sale. You are welcome to post any questions that you have and I'm sure I'll get back to you quick as I'll probably be siting at work bored out of my mind! Good luck and tell them the Bored Salesman sent you.
